Early Life

Rishabh Pant was born in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, to Rajendra Pant and Saroj Pant. He began his journey toward becoming a professional cricketer at a young age, transferring to Delhi to train under Tarak Sinha at the Sonnet Cricket Academy. He idolized Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist, who influenced his attacking play style.

Accident and Injury

On 30 December 2022, Pant was involved in a near-fatal car crash on the Delhi-Dehradun highway near Roorkee. Pant was reportedly driving his Mercedes SUV car from New Delhi to Roorkee ( Hometown) and was the only person inside the vehicle, according to eye-witnesses. The car reportedly caught fire when it collided with a central divider on the road. The incident was reported to have taken place at 5.30 am and the car skidded for about 200 metres before hitting the road divider.

He sustained multiple injuries, which led to surgery and forced him out of action for an extended period.  His injuries would keep him out until his return to competitive cricket in the 2024 Indian Premier League.
