Kamran Ghulam is a Pakistani cricketer born on October 10, 1995, in the Upper Dir District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He is a right-handed batsman and bowls slow left-arm orthodox. Kamran rose to prominence in Pakistan’s domestic cricket circuit and earned recognition for his performances in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

In the 2020-21 season, he became the first player to score over 1,000 runs in a single edition since the tournament’s format was revamped. He also set a record for the most runs scored in a single Quaid-e-Azam Trophy season, earning him the title of Best Batsman of the tournament.

Kamran Ghulam: The journey to Test debut

He represented Pakistan Under-19 in the 2014 ICC U19 World Cup and was later called up to the national team. In January 2023, Kamran made his ODI debut against New Zealand, and in October 2024, he made his Test debut against England, marking the occasion with a century, becoming only the second Pakistani player to achieve this feat on debut against England.

The 29-year-old has smashed a century on his Test debut in the second game against England in Multan. Ghulam, who has come in place for Babar Azam, slammed a century to end a long wait for Pakistan in Test cricket. He has become only the second-ever Pakistan batter to slam a century while making his debut at No.4 in Test cricket. The first-ever batter from the country to hit a ton from No.4 was Saleem Malik, who hit 100* against Sri Lanka in a 1982 Test match in Karachi.
