Early Life and Background
Dhruv Jurel, a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, was born in Agra, Uttar Pradesh on January 21, 2001.His father Nem Chand served in the Indian army and is a Kargil war veteran.
From a young age, Dhruv showed a keen interest in cricket. He started playing cricket during a summer camp at his school. Slowly he developed his interest in cricket and shifted to Noida to join Cricket Academy. Dhruv Jurel’s interest in cricket was initially disliked by his father, as he wanted him to become a Govt officer. During School days, Dhruv used to go to the cricket ground escaping the watchful eyes of his Father.
Star Cricketer, once said that his mother sold a gold earring and paid Rs 8000 to purchase his first cricket kit.
Domestic Career
India Under-19
Dhruv Jurel rose to prominence as a part of the India Under-19 team. He was included in the team that competed in the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup which was held in South Africa. Jurel was appointed the vice-captain of the team. His leadership and performance behind the stumps and with the bat were crucial for India throughout the tournament.

Indian Premier League (IPL)
Dhruv Jurel was signed by Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of IPL 2022 for a base price of INR 20 lakh. But he did not get to play that season.
Jurel made his IPL debut in 2023 and impressed everyone with his power-hitting in the death overs.
That season, he scored 152 runs from 11 innings, at an average of 21.71 and a strike rate of 172.72.
International Career
He made his international debut in 2024 against England. On 15 February 2024, Dhruv Jurel made his Test Debut for India in the third test against England in Rajkot. In his maiden test innings, he scored 46 off 104 balls.
In the fourth test against England at Ranchi, Jurel scored a crucial 90 runs off 149 balls in the first innings and kept India in the game as wickets fell around him and England took control.
In his second test itself, Jurel was awarded player of the match for his crucial knocks in both innings.
